Experience
A lifelong Chicago resident, Barbara Sapstein has been a professional Realtor specializing in city properties for more than twenty years.

A Chicago Native
Barbara began her career focusing on the Gold Coast, Lincoln Park/DePaul and Old Town areas. Fourteen years ago, she moved into the newly established River North neighborhood, and since then has played a key role in developing this showcase, urban neighborhood into a vital community in which to live, work and play.

Community Involvement
Barbara was co-founder and past President of the River North Resident’s Association, an organization which deals with quality of life issues, environment and beautification, and governmental issues. In this position, Barbara has worked closely with the Alderman, city officials, business owners and residents. Together, their work has resulted in new parks, businesses, streetscapes, sidewalks—and so much more—making River North one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in the city.

Barbara also serves as an Executive Board Member for the River North Association, which serves the needs of our business community. She serves as a liaison between boards to facilitate their common goals and resolve issue of concern to both.

Previously, Barbara took on the role of CAPS (Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy) facilitator for the 18th district. Shortly after that, she was asked to sit on the District Advisory Council (DAC) to the Commander of the 18th District. This program provides citizens of the 18th district the opportunity to sit down with their beat officers on a monthly basis and discuss neighborhood issues and to work together to resolve them. This program has been the key to the success and growth of this neighborhood.
